Course Offering

The attached curriculum are similar to those of most USA universities, in order to facilitate course credit transfer as well academic acceptance at other institutions in the USA and elsewhere. Though the courses will be similar to USA curriculum, special sensitivity will be maintained toward the Chinese culture and setting. Faculty is recruited from the USA, China, and elsewhere.

This program will offer 5 different majors for which the student can gain specialized in-depth knowledge according to their career aspirations and personal interests. Free electives are also available in additional business areas. The curriculum aims to offer superior value to students in order to increase their endowment of skills to manage their careers or pursue opportunities in the growing economy of Beijing and China.

This MBA requires students to identify problems and issues facing a real organization, conduct comprehensive external and internal analyses, and develop plans of action and recommendations for organizations by integrating the knowledge acquired in classes.

 

Course Structure

The overall structure of the program is provided in the diagram below, which shows students’ progression through the pre-requisites, core courses, major course, and the thesis. Depending on their career aspirations and interests, students must choose the major they will study (Marketing, Finance, Strategic Management, International Trade, or Entertainment Management).

Depending on their educational background, students entering the course may need to take one or more Prerequisite Modules to gain the basic knowledge needed for the rest of their MBA studies.

Marketing Major 市場學專業

This Major is designed to provide insights on a dynamic field of study that develops business skills and creativity to work in a marketing position. It prepares students for positions in sales, retail management, advertising and marketing research.

For the Marketing Major, students must complete the following Modules:

    • International Marketing (3 credits)
    • Services Marketing 服務業市場學 (3 credits)
    • Business Research Methods I (3 credits)
    • Plus 6 additional credits from MBA level courses

Finance Major 財務學專業

This Major is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in commercial and investment banking, real estate, insurance, and corporate control and treasury functions. In addition, finance is important for generalists seeking careers in organization planning, management consulting, general line management, and small business management. The finance curriculum provides a working understanding of the financial decision-making processes in organizations as well as insight into how financial markets function.

For the Finance Major, students must complete the following Modules:

    • Derivatives & Options 衍生工具及期權 (3 credits)

Strategic Management Major 策略管理學專業

The Strategic Management Major is designed to provide students with a thorough grounding in classic management theory and training. Management strategies from a multinational perspective area also addressed.

For the Management Major, students must complete the following Modules:

International Trade Major商業硏究學專業

This Major is designed for students who want to work in the arena of international trade. It emphasizes in-depth knowledge and relevant skill sets for managing, operating or starting businesses in international trade.

For the International Trade Major, students must complete the following Modules:

    • Tax and Off-Shore Taxation (3 credits)
    • Selling to the USA & Europe (3 credits)
    • Procurement in China (3 credits)
    • Global Trade (3 credits)

Entertainment Management Major

This Major is designed to provide insights on entertainment management. It prepares students for positions in event management and event marketing. This Major is designed to provide students with a thorough grounding in the challenges facing entrainment professionals.

For the Event Management Major, students must complete the following Modules:

    • Entertainment Management and Operations (3 credits)
    • Conferences and Trade Show Management and Operations (3 credits)
